Jack Tarling is a BAFTA nominated British film producer. His film Kneecap (2024) has been selected to represent Ireland in the International Feature Film category at the 2025 Oscars[1].
Career
[edit]Jack studied Media production at Northumbria University. After line producing seven feature films, he went on to produce critically acclaimed films God's Own Country (2017), Await Further Instructions (2018), and Kneecap (2024). His contributions to the film industry have been recognized for their impact and creativity.
Kneecap was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics for distribution in North America and multiple other territories. It won seven awards at the 2024 British Independent Film Awards, including Best British Independent Film. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival[2]. His film God's Own Country (2017) is a critically acclaimed romantic drama that won several awards and was nominated for a BAFTA.
Jack Tarling runs two production companies: Shudder Films and Mother Tongues Films. Shudder Films has recently established a base in the North East of England to support local talent and strengthen their regional presence. Additionally, Jack Tarling, along with Manon Ardisson and Chiara Ventura, launched the **Mother Tongues Award** to support UK-based filmmakers with non-English-language scripts, promoting diversity and representation in the British film industry.[3]
